What's your process?

"I love to take a playlist from the bride and groom. I really encourage them to put themselves into their playlist, so that the night's dancing has their DNA in it. I use it as a blueprint to build a set that I know will get EVERYONE up and dancing, from young to old, even those that never usually dance. Because I play everything from the 60s through to the current day, I can always appeal to the whole room. I am a multi-genre DJ with 11 years of club and wedding experience, so of course I can play anything from Disco to Afrobeat, 90s Dance to 90s RnB, Indie to Pop, I love it all. It's all about connecting with the guests, and creating a night that everyone will remember. I give all my energy to ensure it's a success, and work with my clients to ensure any intricacy or detail is covered, logistically and musically."

Bride: "We are so pleased that we chose Bukky as the DJ for our wedding in December. From our initial outreach to Bukky, his communication was amazing and quick to respond.

He gave ideas, was flexible, and understood exactly what we wanted from the evening. On the actual day, it was perfect. He played all of our 'must haves', read the room, and kept the dancefloor absolutely packed the entire evening.

He has a great passion and knowledge of different types of genres that seamlessly flowed throughout the night. A massive thank you Bukky - we would 100% recommend you to others who are looking for a wedding or occasion DJ!"

Bride: "DJ Bukky was absolutely incredible! He completely made our wedding. The energy, the vibe, the way he read the room — everything was perfect. He listened to every request and somehow even played the songs I couldn’t remember the names of… it was like he could read my mind. Everyone had SO much fun and the dance floor stayed full all night. We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ.

Groom: 10/10 recommend DJ Bukky. I booked him for my wedding and he had the dancefloor packed all night long. We had 2 calls prior to the day to get an understanding of what vibe we were after and he delivered the perfect set.

On the day he was super responsive with messages, coordinating guests over the mic for me and my wife’s arrival to the reception.

Really nice guy too who dealt with drunk guest song requests very professionally! We will be booking him again for our next big event! Do not hesitate to book DJ Bukky"

Playlist Consultation

1. Can I provide my own playlist?

FAQ's

Absolutely! I actively encourage you to provide a playlist. Whether it's big or small, anywhere from 20 to 200 songs, it helps to put a microscope on exactly the music you love. I will then use it as a blueprint to compliment it. You may also provide genres.

2. What about songs that I don't want to be played?

I also encourage clients to provide a "blacklist" for songs they really do not like. One person's cheese is another man's gold, therefore it does no harm to spell out what you do  not like. Wedding guests may expect songs you do not like, for example - but of course, it's your wedding!

4. What communication can I expect on the run up to the wedding?

Imagine not being able to get in touch with your DJ during the run up to the event, or if they are uncommunicative. What a nightmare! I pride myself on being strong in communication with clients throughout the run up to the event. We will need to co-ordinate, therefore my whatsapp is always open and I arrange a call just before the wedding to iron out any details that you may not have thought of.

5. How much does it cost?

Costing is dependent upon a few factors including:

1. Location of the venue

2. Duties at the wedding

3. Length of time

4. Equipment requested

I also offer discounts based upon payment options to make my services more accessible. I bet you never thought you'd hear the word 'discount' when it comes to a wedding!

6. Why would we hire you over somebody else?

Most couples hire me because they don't want a cheesy wedding DJ. As well as DJ'ing weddings for years, I have a decades worth of experience DJ'ing in Clubs, both commercial and underground, across multiple genres, which gives me an edge to your cheesy wedding DJ in the Hawaiian top shouting 'this ones for you at the back'. For example even if you want some 'cheesy' songs you don't necessarily want a cheesy person playing it!

I am also a 'safe pair of hands'. Having DJ'd for 11 years I guarantee results, am extremely reliable and have strong communication, all reflected in my 5 star review on Google.

7. What does your full set up look?

You can check out my full set up here. Extras can always be ordered in from my suppliers:

8. Bride and Groom come from two different backgrounds, how would you make a mixed crowd work, for example English and Non-English?

I am often hired because I am an expert at bridging cultural gaps between wedding guests. I myself am English, from West Yorkshire originally, so perfectly in tune with English culture. I am also half Nigerian, and have a very strong understanding of Urban Music, Black culture & Asian Music/Culture.  Because I am keen to learn about different cultures, this is reflected in my breadth of musical knowledge.

8. I have a question not on this FAQ.

Then don't be a stranger! ;)
